This eye-opening book, written for men only, is the first of its kind. Direct, honest, down-to-earth, and practical, it describes the true path to peace between a husband and wife. The author intended this book for husbands only and is in the process of creating a book meant only for wives, thereby speaking to each spouse individually and tailoring his words appropriately. There is no talking-down, no self-righteousness, and no ambiguity in these pages.

Instead, the shining light of truth mingles with the sparkling call of garde, making the reading of this book a life-changing experience. Read more Read less. Discover Prime Book Box for Kids. My Jewish wife became pseudo-religious and divorced me after 28 years of really never wanting to be in the marriage. I practiced many of the concepts in the book, e.

We’re blessed in so many ways, e. As we would be cleaning up after hosting a dinner arhsh 25 or 30 people, I would do like the book said and would tell her how well she organized and cooked everything. Even though I did a good portion of the work, not only would she not compliment me back, but she would tell me not to forget it.

Like the author says, I never expected or received any compliments. My wife just went through the marriage being angry. Our Rabbi said it was off job to turn her anger around. I know the author said to put the wife first.

And they’ll feel important and come around. I did all these things. My wife finally agreed to go for one two hour marriage counseling session. After hearing all her complaints, Counselor concluded I was good guy and marriage could work if she wanted it to which she said “no” to.

In summary, I think the woman’s liberation movement has infected Jewish women. I do believe all the suggestions in the book are good ones. I just think some religious Jewish women are bent on divorce and won’t be persuaded.

As a conservative Jew myself, this book went into a few places that don’t quite coincide with my particular perspective, but a very respectable author that anyone studying Judaism will come across at some point in their journey to “wrestle with G-d”. I enjoy Rabbi Arush’s approach to his audience and have found him to be consistent throughout when it comes to his other writings.

All around good read with some very eye-opening sections for me at least. So far it is the best book ever on my list written on the subject of ancient wisdom of family life. Very fresh and unique approach. Puts many gardsn pieces of life in their perfect places. This was recommended by a Jewish friend.

She and her husband have the pair and swear by them. We thought it would be a nice start for the kids to get a feel for how to have a spouse before gadden were married. So far they have had positive comments. Basic love, respect and kindness is the key to a long successful marriage. Will Make every marriage the most important beautiful A must read. I personally liked the ideas in The Garden of Peace very much.

I felt the book was an easy read and offered many helpful insights into what the bible teaches about marriage. If you are religious and interested in learning your role as a man in the home, this book is a must read. However, I must admit I had a difficult time applying these principles in my own life. For starters, I am not Jewish. Secondly, I’m not very religious. Thirdly, I have a hard gardden applying principles like “the man must be the sole bread garen in our society.

I love the idea of being an old school man, and showering my wife with gifts in appreciation for what she does for the family. However, it isn’t easy figuring out how to do this unless you live in an Orthodox community or maybe even a devout Christian home. This doesn’t mean that I received no benefit from the book. The few ideas I was able to learn and apply have been a great help. For example, the Zohar teaches that the man is likened to the sun while the woman to the moon.

The wife is going to reflect the light of her husband. If he’s good toward her, she’ll always love in return.

If he’s not good toward her, everyone in the home will suffer as a result. I can see many modern day folks finding ways to take offense at this book, but I feel the author did an outstanding job of keeping the lessons balanced if anything, it usually falls in favor of the wife.

One of the things I liked best about this book is that it’s not afraid to challenge men to stop acting like wimps. This book slapped me in the face and told me to be a man.

Men are givers, not receivers it’s even made evident in our anatomy. Men are the ones who should be giving respect, compliments, gifts, and appreciation toward the wives. But all too often we men whine about not getting enough respect from our wives!

We’re the ones acting like the receivers! If we truly gave like we were supposed to, everything else would fall into place. This is definitely a great book to read. It was most certainly the best book on marriage that I’ve ever read. Like I said, some of the ideas are very hard to apply for people like me though certainly not impossiblebut it gives a good model. He has excellent books on helping your marriage.
